I would also suggest that whenever you apply for a job, make sure the cover 
letter addresses all of the qualifications. If you don't have real world 
experience, then talk about classes that might be relevant. Or how you plan 
to become qualified. (For example, you don't know a language or HTML, but 
you are will to take a class at the local college - and make sure they offer 
such a class).

I was shocked at how few people addressed the qualifications in their cover 
letter or promoted themselves in anyway. Hiring folks don't have a lot of 
time to go through resumes and your school webpage to decide if you meet the 
qualifications. My attitude got to be, if they don't mention it, they don't 
have it.
