The Stewart Bell Jr. Archives is a joint project of Handley Regional Library
and the Winchester-Frederick County Historical Society and is staffed by our
full-time Archivist and two Archives Aides, in addition to many volunteers.
The Archives is open Tues.-Wed. 1-8 p.m. and Thurs.-Sat. 10-5. It is funded
jointly by the library system and the historical society and has been in
operation for over 20 years. Archives staff and volunteers have processed
hundreds of linear feet of archival material relating to the Northern
Shenandoah Valley and have created numerous pathfinders and other finding
