[Publib] Bookmobile alternatives

Do any of you have any suggestions about alternatives to using bookmobiles
in rural areas?  A library I work with has a bookmobile on it's last legs
and replacement costs are enormous.  Any ideas of how to reach the rural
communities without using a bookmobile?
