Golly, Joe. That's a catastrophe. What happens to the pink-slipped people,
does their insurance stop instantly as well as their income? 

How do all the left-behind colleagues get the work done?

'Resoundingly' is such a discouraging fact. What kind of city is it that the
voters' children will be growing up in, and the voters themselves growing old
in? What were they thinking?

Santa Fe Public Library
       another place where city government operates on sales taxes and not
property taxes, and part of the city council wants the Friends of the Library
to fundraise for our operating expenses, but so far we've never had lay-offs...
