My vote is for the Riverwalk Food Court. Sounds like fun! Jim

Subject: [Publib] PUBLIB get together in New Orleans

Hey Everybody!

Are we going to have a PUBLIB get together in New Orleans? Friday
evening? If so, what time? Here are a few possible locations close to
the Convention Center:

1. True Brew Cafe, 200 Julia St. One block from the Convention
Center. A coffee shop with bar, theatre space, and some light food.
It's a nice space and they seem quite willing to work with us -- i.e.,
if we want it to be no smoking, it will be no smoking while we are there!

2. Riverwalk Food Court, the end of the Riverwalk adjacent to the
Convention Center at the top of the escalators. We have used this space
in the past and it worked well. There are fewer food and drink vendors
available post-Katrina, but it's open and offers a lovely view of the
Mississippi River.

3. Ugly Dog Saloon, 401 Howard Ave. 3 or 4 blocks from the Convention
Center. Spacious bar with barbecue, pool tables, pin ball machines and
fun artwork. Smoking throughout, but a good ventilation system helps
alot. They say it's quite crowded at lunchtime, but we'd have plenty of
space in the evening.

Looking forward to seeing you all!
Vicki
