Actually, everybody goes into librarianship for the money.  If you  think 
this isn't true, go ahead and do it for free for a month; either that or  
consider sending a portion of your salary to someone else because you don't  really 
need all of it.
 
Providing good service to the community is a good thing and the object of  
librarianship, but this isn't the same as joining a religious order.  There  
should be no vow of poverty to be a library worker.
