[Publib] Why librarianship?

I agree, it is a nice thread! When I was in elementary school (small
catholic rural), I had a few teachers who inspired my love of reading and
using the school library. I also made cards and pockets for my books at
home and "made" my brothers sign them out of "my library". I still have one
of those books. When I went on to junior high and senior high, the same
thing happened. However, it took me until I was tired of working as nurse's
aide to realize I wanted to fulfill a dream by working in a library. I went
on to get my MLS and started in a public library 15 years ago. I've been
here ever since with all the frustrations, the joys of helping people and
the satisfaction of answering a question no one else could.
