In all honesty, our catalogers' response to the news was "Good!"  We 
always end up deleting LC series entries and create our own, based on 
what the patrons actually request.  We generally use authors 
websites, book covers, and popular resources like Amazon to create 
series tracers -- and do lots of X-refs.
