The Georgia Public Library Service, the state library agency for
Georgia, is accepting applications for the position of PINES/IT Helpdesk
Manager.  The Helpdesk Manager plans and coordinates activities of GPLS'
front line technology support, including management of the IT/PINES
helpdesk and coordination of technology support assignments. Supports
and participates on a team that offers customer support for information
technology functions, network support, email and web services, hardware
and software support, and support for PINES services to the Georgia
Public Library Service and to public libraries in Georgia. Requirements
include extensive knowledge of and experience with public libraries and
library automation; systems monitoring, reporting and analysis,
information management, project management, and training.

 

A Bachelor's degree in library science, computer science or related
field is required; MLS and public library experience preferred.
Experience with library computer applications, excellent customer
service skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Prefer helpdesk experience, hardware/software support skills, networking
skills.

 

Salary is competitive, depending upon experience.  This position is
located in Atlanta at the GPLS offices on Clairmont Road.  Please send a
