There are a couple of sites that I find useful for checking out communities. 
www.city-data.com has good demographic info (a little data) as well as 
pollution, colleges, schools, nearby cities, age, weather, all kinds of 
things. www.epodunk.com has links to all iknds of information, including a 
site that tells you who the major polluters are and what they are putting 
out there.
