[Publib] ? Tech services question

Good morning,
I would like to hear the practices of other public libraries' Tech
Services departments. We currently have staff edit carts of just
cataloged items to check for errors (before they are processed).
Wondering if this step can be skipped in the interest of saving time--is
it necessary to double check other staff's work? Would like your
collective professional opinions on this before I suggest any changes to
staff. Thanks much!
