[Publib] A question of protocol

I have recently signed on to the list and I represent a company that
manufactures CD/DVD display furniture and display shelving for libraries.
Recently a question was asked about shelving suggestions.  What is the
protocol for answering questions that pertain to the products that I
manufacture?  I don't want to "spam" the list so to speak.  Please advise.
