I made this yesterday and it is delicious. The butter is a must, otherwise
it would be *way* too dry. The only other oil is that in the bananas.
It's dark and heavy in the same way other old-fashioned recipes are. It
reminds me of my grandmother's dark fruitcake recipe -- makes no concessions
to the modern mass-production food industry.
