The Dayton Metro Library is inviting dynamic, customer focused
librarians to apply for the position of Branch Manager at the E.C. Doren
Branch Library. This traditional branch serves both long term
neighborhood residents and a growing Hispanic population. 

Job Responsibilities: Sets branch goals and objectives, directs all
branch services, assigns job responsibilities, hires, trains schedules
and evaluates staff; ensures proper maintenance of branch building,
equipment and grounds; develops and maintains a materials collection
which meets community needs; develops annual budget and work program;
acts as liaison between administration and branch staff; promotes
community awareness of the library and its services; develops and
implements programming for selected constituent groups; serves on system
wide committees and collaborative projects. 

Job Qualifications: Ability to plan, schedule and oversee branch
operations and personnel; knowledge of professional library principles,
policies and procedures; knowledge and appreciation of literature,
periodicals, audiovisual materials, Web sites and other electronic
media; and materials which constitute a diverse, current and relevant
collection required. MLS from an A.L.A. accredited program, minimum of
three to five years of increasingly responsible experience in a public
library setting at a professional level, and supervisory experience
preferred. 

Salary and Benefits: Starting salary $47,528 with exceptional fringe
benefits.
