I am pretty sure the recipe wanted is the one from an old Fanny 
Farmer cookbook.  My mom had a 196- something edition and the generic 
recipe is in the Quick Breads section.  Sorry to say, that cookbook 
expired but I believe the current Fanny Farmer still includes this 
old and delicious recipe.
