How many CDs do you have and how much money are you
willing to spend? I was thinking about a CD rom server
for our children's CDs and discovered they were fairly
expensive. Instead, I used the CD rom drives on staff
computers to run the games. On the children's
computers, I mapped a network drive to the staff
computer that had the game I was installing. Then I
installed the game remotely, so that when a child
clicks on the icon, the computer in the children's
dapartment knows to look for the cd-rom in the (for
example) 'g' drive, which is actually another
computer. If you don't have more games than you have
staff computers and if your staff doesn't really use
their CD drives, it's a much cheaper alternative to a
cd server.

Would love some input regarding CD-ROM servers
(brands, experience,
recommendations). We are in the process of building a
new library and
would like to network the children's game CDs. Any
information would be
greatly appreciated.
