[Publib] Lecture or workshop ideas...

A patron has just offered the library some funds to conduct an annual
lecture or workshop series in honor of 2 of our most active volunteers.  She
wants me to present some ideas and formats to the couple and go from there.
Does anyone have ideas to get us started?  I'm thinking about a thematic
approach (for example, women's health, local history, or current events). We
will compile some ideas, then present them to the honored couple.  I'm
hoping someone out there has some ideas that have worked for them. This is
small rural library in Northern Michigan.  We don't generally have access to
big names and speakers and I'm not sure where to start. Feel free to share
with me on or off the list.
