Library Director  -  The City of Monona, Wisconsin, a community of 8,000 on
Lake Monona in the highly desirable greater Madison area, seeks a Director
responsible for all aspects of library administration.   The position
requires strong management and communication skills, an ALA-MLS, eligibility
for Wisconsin Grade 1 Public Librarian Certification and 5 years
progressively responsible library experience, including 2-3 years in an
administrative capacity.  Experience in management in a union environment
and with the Wisconsin Mediation Arbitration Law a plus.   Prefer a
candidate with computer skills and experience with library automation
systems. The library is part of the LINK consortium with 40 other libraries
sharing a Dynix system and migrating to Horizon. The library is heavily
used, has one of the highest per capita circulations in the State, and
completed a $3.5 million expansion and renovation in 2002. Salary range
$47,800 - $56,000 with excellent benefits.
