[Publib] Selling books on Ebay

Hello Everyone,
 
We have recently had some rare/collectible books donated to the library. They have come in from several sources mixed in with perfectly normal paperbacks and such. They are priced online anywhere from $75 to $250. We don't want to just put them in our book sale for .50! I have proposed setting up an EBay account to list them and my board loved the idea and one of the board members volunteered to set it up. Unfortunately, we are a city library without a Friends group and the city is questioning the legality/ethics of doing this. Does anyone out there have experience with this from a non-Friends point of view? Any comments or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, as always...
