The first episode of Libraries Across Cultures features an interview
with the city librarian of Toyota, Japan discussing services to
linguistic minorities. Though the city's non-Japanese population is
only about three percent, its library offers some 20,000 books in
foreign languages.
Libraries Across Cultures aims to examine libraries from an outsider's
perspective, hoping to uncover practices that can help make American
libraries even more accessible & welcoming to more kinds of people.
