[Publib] changing space

I am interested in hearing from those of you who built or remodeled, and 
significantly changed the square footage of your library.
 How did patrons respond?  How did it impact staff 
interactions/relationships?  If you had it to do again, what steps would 
you take to prepare your staff ?  What, if anything, would you do 
differently?
