[Publib] "pet" names for librarians

I have to add a slightly off topic comment, it concerns a patron who truly
understood how to approach a librarian.
Years ago when I worked in Richmond Va. (Main Library) we had a patron who
always dressed in a head scarf and tiara.
The reference desk then was on a raised platform and was marble topped,
somewhat altar like. When "Tiara" entered the room she always genuflected
toward us at the desk.

How about "only my husband/boyfriend is allowed to call me sweetheart - I
don't mind at all if you can call me Sarah!"

I woudl really like to know an effective, even "snappy" way to handle
patrons that call me "honey, sweetie, etc." as I help them over the phone.
It's bad enough that many of them get my name wrong (How do you get Joan,
Beth, etc. from Sarah?) Most of our patrons are old, and some heard of
hearing, and some senile, but I still don't like being called a "pet" name
by someone I don't even know. And I don't want to offend.

Any good ideas?
