I couldn't agree more with Andy's observation.  All around the south
suburban Chicago area I see dozens of municipalities approving
referendums and bond issues to push for bigger and better public
libraries.  Literally every public library in our area is expanding its
size and services.

If libraries are on the road to oblivion, why are taxpayers in so many
communities willing to approve measures to expand and improve public
libraries?  People are "voting with their wallets" and saying YES to
Libraries!
