Does this sound familiar?Could this be Frances Boyd Calhoun's Miss Minerva
and William Green Hill? My tattered copy names five additional Miss Minerva
books about orphaned Billy and his aunt. My fifth grade teacher read it
aloud to our class once upon a time.

Subject: [Publib] Does this sound familiar?
We have a patron who is trying to track down a book that was read to her
father when he was in about 4th grade. He is 60 now. All he remembers is
that there was a character named Augusta, and that it was written in a
Southern sort of dialect or style. He believes it was one of a series. I
checked our catalog and OCLC, and I see a series of mysteries by Augusta
Seaman that would be from the right time period (but no indication that
they are "Southern" or have a character named Augusta). I'm hoping someone
on the list can help.
Thanks,
