At the last library system I worked, we would test the pages with both a
blind test and a known test. Just set up a cart, mark a few items and go
check their accuracy. It required some work on the part of the page
supervisor, but it provided some good information.

Subject: [Publib] pages and shelving
I'm asking on behalf of our page supervisor for information about how
your books get back on the shelf. We have about 100,000 items, and
circulate over 200,000 annually.
We have 5 or 6 pages that also fill in as clerks at the circ desk. How
do you encourage accuracy and attention to detail while shelving?
Compared to some libraries our shelves are in great shape, but we really
are interested improving the accuracy of the shelving. any
suggestions...comments?
Thanks,
Steve Haydu
