[Publib] pages and shelving

We do random checks. The pages here have a designated supervisor (they
only page, not clerk). She periodically notes a few random items on a
truck waiting to be shelved, then follows shortly after the page takes
the truck out to see if things are shelved correctly. Works pretty well
for us.

Subject: [Publib] pages and shelving

I'm asking on behalf of our page supervisor for information about how
your books get back on the shelf. We have about 100,000 items, and
circulate over 200,000 annually.
We have 5 or 6 pages that also fill in as clerks at the circ desk. How
do you encourage accuracy and attention to detail while shelving?
Compared to some libraries our shelves are in great shape, but we really
are interested improving the accuracy of the shelving. any
suggestions...comments?
Thanks,
Steve Haydu
