Branch Manager - Librarian III

The San Bernardino Co. library system is recruiting for a Librarian III,
Branch Manager, for the Apple Valley, CA  library, a 20,000 sq ft facility
opened in 2002 in a community of 70,000 with a staff of 14 FTE.  This
library also provides County Recorder services, including marriage licenses
and ceremonies, and birth and death certificates.  An Early Learning
Bookmobile operates from the facility.  The collection of 70,000 items is to
be converted to RFID self-checkout technology in 2007.  Qualifications:
Option 1:  MLS plus 2 years prof library experience including one year of
supervision.  Option 2:  BA or equiv. plus 3 years prof library experience
including one year of supervision.   Salary:  $50,502-$64,438; placement on

Program Coordinator-Public Relations/Marketing

The San Bernardino Co.  library system is recruiting for a Library Program
Coordinator for Public Relations/Marketing.  The system includes 30 branches
serving a population of over 1.2 million in the largest geographic county in
the contiguous U.S.  Working w/ a staff of 2 F.T. and 2 pt time staff, the
successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a
public relations program for communicating library services as well as
developing an overall marketing plan for the system.  Qualifications:  BA or
equivalent, plus minimum of 2 years experience in a public relations dept or
library with significant responsibilities for providing written and graphic
promotional materials.  Library experience highly desirable.  Salary:
$53,040-$67,740.  Placement on salary scale dependent upon experience.
