We have had Anti-Defamation League speakers provide sensitivity training
for staff on dealing with patrons from a multi-cultural community,
police officers discuss gang symbols and workplace safety, and our
Village Manager once spoke about economic development plans for the
Village. Programs that focus staff attention on community related
issues may be worthwhile and the speakers sometimes come without charge.

Subject: [Publib] Staff Day
Greetings!
I am thinking about our annual Staff Day, which will be held in May
2007, and am having trouble coming up with ideas. We have been doing
this for about 10 years now and I don't want to repeat the customer
service training, computer issues, stress on the job, etc. I was
thinking of doing something on Reader's Advisory but am not sure what.
Does anybody have any creative and work-related issues that staff might
enjoy? Thanks in advance.
