[Publib] Software for Electronic Newsletters - Thoughts?

Hello,

I've been experimenting with electronic newsletter software from www.onlineitools.com.

I just sent a trial library electronic newsletter using their software. I enjoyed the color formatting, the ability to insert lots of photos and graphics, and the blind mailing list capability. The patron feedback was incredible! Everyone loved it. The cost of using the software is $19.95 a month for the first year.

My question is, is there something else out there that will produce a product of the same appeal and professionalism, but at a lower price....or, dare I say it, for free?
The only negative comment I received is that one person suggested we purchase electronic newsletter software rather than paying on a monthly basis. I thought perhaps purchased software might date quickly, recieve less technical support, and entail a larger upfront fee, but I'm open to ideas.

I don't want to have to set up another server, and I don't want compatibility problems with patron email accounts, and I don't want something that's difficult or time consuming to use...I have a thousand other things to do. I found this package very easy to use, and liked the product it generated.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
  Maggie Bollar
