I recently began a new job with Durham County Library
in Durham, North Carolina.  Durham is a GREAT place to
live and work, so I hope you will consider applying

Durham County is a progressive and diverse community
of 249,654 and home to Duke University, North Carolina
Central University, Research Triangle Park and the
Durham Bulls Baseball Team.  In June, Durham County
Library opened the first of four regional libraries
and in a few weeks will have a grand re-opening of the
historic restored, renovated, and expanded Stanford L.
Warren Library.  The Main Library will be renovated,
expanded, or relocated into a new facility in a few
years as part of a transformed downtown which by the
end of 2008 will have over half a billion dollars in
private investment in addition to major public
investment.

A sampling of the Durham's annual events includes the
American Dance Festival, Full Frame Documentary Film
Festival, Bull Durham Blues Festival, and Carolina Gay
and Lesbian Film Festival.  You will find a great
climate, wonderful book stores, restaurants, hiking
and biking, two library schools, great educational
institutions, and more in the Durham/Chapel
Hill/Raleigh Triangle area.  Atlantic beaches and Blue
Ridge mountains are 2 to 4 hours away by car.

(3) Head of Reference, Main Library - Position #
40001765 - $39,862 - $68,621

Salaries will be negotiated to take into account the
successful applicants' experience, skills, and other
qualifications.
