I do not understand the fascination with celebrities and why people feel they should emulate their hairstyles, clothing selection, or hobbies--including reading. It is interesting that very few of the celebs who are also auteurs (Ethan Hawke, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Nora Ephron, Billy Bob Thornton, Sylvester Stallone, Shirley McClain, Steve Martin, Wood Allen, etc.) do not seem to be on these posters.
Here is my suggestion: Get out YOUR digital camera take some photos of local dignataries and citizens of all ages (mayor, teachers, rich people who should be giving money to your district rather than building 10,000 square foot houses), kids, mom's, dad's and grandchildren. Do not limit the poster themes to "READ." Include all of the services and activities that your library offers: "Research Your Family Tree," "Mommy and Daddy and Me Read together." "Watch Films." Festoon your walls to your hearts content (librarians consider bare walls anathema). You can print posters at your local Kinko's. And you can sell copies of the posters you make to the subjects who will be more than happy to buy multiple copies to send off to sisters, grandparents, etc.
