Greetings:

How do you split up a set called "The Sopranos: The Complete Fourth Season"? One of our eight county libraries saw the value in circulating individual disks; however, they did not create cataloging for each discrete item. Rather, they tried to modify the existing record in our shared database. Customers were placing reserves against bib record only to find they received the "incomplete" fourth season--the confusion has hurt customer service.

These kinds of AV questions are vexing regardless of approach.
