Do you allow customers who are over your threshold for dollars due the
library to have a payment contract that, as long as it's current, allows
customers all of the benefits of a customer with no fines on their cards
(such as check outs and internet use)?
We allow patrons to continue to checkout and use the Internet as long as
they are making regular payments. There is a message in the patron
record indicating that he/she must make a payment every time he/she uses
the library until the amount is brought below the threshold. This works
particularly well with children who often can't pay the entire amount at
once, but can make small payments.
