[Publib] Television Series DVDs

We don't purchase a lot of television shows here at McMillan but other
libraries in our system do. They all seem to circulate each disc
separately, so a show with six discs for a season would circulate as six
different items. Part of the logic of this, beyond making circulation look
better, has to be that many people won't watch an entire season's worth of
episodes in the brief circulation period for DVDs. This lets patron A
check out disc 1 and spend a few evenings watching the contents while
patron B can be watching disc 2 during the same time period. I would think
that theft wouldn't be as much of an issue as well because it would be
difficult for any one patron to collect an entire season and individual
discs (unless they have a particular amazing episode) aren't particularly
valuable by themselves.
