Hello,

Please excuse cross-postings.

If this is applicable to your library, it would be helpful to hear from you.
We will be using the info gathered for a RUSA CODES Reader's Advisory
program at ALA in New Orleans.

Have you attempted to get your library's management to support the creation
of a Reader's Advisory program at your library or branch?

Were you ultimately successful in setting up a Reader's Advisory program at
your library or branch?

How many people, or layers of bureaucracy, did you have to seek approval
from in order to set up a Reader's Advisory program? For example, was the
decision yours to make, were you able to seek direct approval from your
library's director, or your branch manager or did you have to work with and
seek approval from others?

What resources did you use in preparing to make your case for setting up a
 Reader's Advisory?

 Websites?

 Books?

Were you seeking dedicated funding for a Reader's Advisory program from
your library or branch?

 Did you receive dedicated funding?

Did you receive dedicated funding at what you believe was an adequate
level?

Were you seeking additional staff for Reader's Advisory at you library or
branch?

Were you able to get the staffing you sought?

If you were successful, what do you believe was the key factor in winning
the support of your library's management?

Had you attended a seminar or talk on Reader's Advisory before attempting
to get management support?

Thank you for your help.
