In our Electronic Resources Lab, we have signs posted that say "Users must
turn off cell phones and pagers while in the Computer Lab". This policy is
strictly enforced. When the phone rings, a general announcement reminding
all users of the policy is given. Then, the patron using the phone is given
a written warning (in the event the patron gets up and leaves the Lab to
speak on the phone, we do not issue a written warning, but only a verbal
warning- the next offense gets a written). This written warning is
recorded. On the next offense, the patron is banned from the Lab for 30
days. A third offense is a permanent banning.
Hope this helps!
