In answer to the question of why I want to start a library in a village that does not want one is: 
  1.  It is truly needed here.
  2.  I am slowly convincing the Village that it is truly needed here.
  3.  There are no activities (other than school) for the kids.
  4.  There are no activities (other than their noon meal) for the Senior Citizens.
  5.  The children who have come to my library programs need alot of encouragement to  read.  Reading books has not been a priority here.  Their reading is way below their levels.  Some are almost illiterate and they are in their teens. The same for some of the adults.  This is sad to me and I want to do everything I can to  help change this.
  6.  I am hoping that it will help to bring the community together.  There is a great deal of racial tension here.
   
  I could go on and on but I think this will give you an idea.
