[Publib] Intelligent Media Manager

We just listened/watched their Webinar on the Intelligent Media Manager
(IMM) and were very impressed with the way it integrates into various
library automation systems.  We felt 1,500 discs was not a very large
capacity but were encouraged that they are working on doubling or
tripling the number through linking them together.  I got the impression
it was not quite ready for purchase but would be soon.  

Our shock was when they told us the price of $37,500 for a single unit.
We are a small library serving 16,000 patrons; and felt there was no way
we could accommodate this price.  We're hoping once a bunch of the "big
guys" buy, prices will fall and in a few years we'll be able to afford
one or more.  It's definitely a cool product, just out of our price
range.

Is anyone familiar with Intelligent Media Manager introduced this year
by Library Automation Technologies, Inc?  Or Media Bank by Libramation?
These are jukebox like products that securely store and self-checkout
dvd's, cd's and game discs to customers, with little or no staff
involvement. We are a large library system looking for a cost effective,
non-labor intensive solution to prevent theft of materials, yet provide
ease of use by customers.
