Maybe the organization that distributes eyeglasses (Lions club?) would want them?

Are these books supplied to partially-sighted or blind readers by LC? If not - and they're recorded literature - possibly another library could use them. Talking Books from LC's service to the blind are "readable" only from the machines LC or its agency supplies.

Subject: [Publib] Talking books on cassette - giving them away
I don't know if anyone can help me, but I have a large
collection of talking books on cassette that our library would like to
donate to a worthy place. I was thinking one of the damaged libraries
in LA or MS, but would consider other places.
They are marked as from our library, but unlike print editions,
I think they could be easily transferred to another library.
Any suggestions? Is this a bad idea? Thanks for your help,
Patty
