Here at Crystal Lake PL, we installed a standalone pc (not part of our network) just for CD-ROM use. There's no other software installed, nor is it connected to the Internet. It has its own printer, so patrons can print the info they find on those reference CD-ROMS. It's also become popular with ESL students who want to use some of the language-lab type software we offer.

Subject: [Publib] supplemental reference CD-ROMs

I was wondering what other libraries do with the supplemental CD-ROMs that often accompany new reference material? Sometimes this is a complete electronic version of the book, but it is pointless to leave it with the book since it will not circulate.
