Someone commented on not bringing work home and someone else commented
on only going in when scheduled.

Surely I am not the only Director who gets the occasional 2 a.m. phone call at home from police or fire dispatch?  Usually for something stupid.  Such as, the police are going to break into your main building to rescue someone who passed out in a meeting room and rolled under a table.  Wait, first, there is an emergency access key box on the building, and second, why can't this guy just go out the emergency exit?

And then there are those people who just feel they need to call the Library Director at home to discuss their library issues.  My favorite, in a previous job, was the lady who wanted to explain to me why she absolutely had to put her video in the drop box even though there was a big sign on it stating no videos.

And as a Director I do spend a certain amount of out of the office evening time at various meetings, either community orgs that I feel we need to be a part of, or to speak to various groups.
