Randi,

I'm curious as to why you are so dedicated to starting a library your
village doesn't want?

In the case of good books, the point is not how many of them you can get
through, but rather how many can get through to you.

Subject: [Publib] Library from scratch - pay - computers

Just wanted to throw in my two cents worth to some of these topics I
have been reading about.

First of all starting a library from scratch is no picnic. Hardest
thing I have ever done in my life. The small village I live in did not
have one nor did it want one. I have worked for two years to try and
create a library. I am just now finally starting to make a little
progress. Did I mention that this was without any pay? In fact I used
my own money to start it. No I'm not rich, just used up all of my
savings. That is how dedicated I am to completing this....

Then I see on the board different amounts of pay from around the
different states.

50K in one, 36K in another. Be happy with what you have. You don't
know how lucky you are.

As for computers I purchased our computers from Wal-Mart. The $499.00
Comaq special. Works just as good as the big boys do.
