[ILL-L] Overdue fees

We have a university in-state that adds overdue fees to bills for lost
books- a violation of the agreement with the State Library.  We too have
them in our Last Resort group.

   I wish everyone agreed with you! There are a few libraries out there
who do charge overdues on ILL items, but we try to avoid them if we have
the choice.

I think the general rule and agreement is that there are no overdue fees
in ILL, since we'd just be exchanging money back and forth,

Hello, ILLers:

    Our library system is going to begin charging overdue fees to our
patrons as of Oct 1, but we do not intend to charge overdue fees to our
ILL partners (that's you!) We have gotten some emails and calls asking
about this, so I thought sending this to the list would be appropriate.

    Some of you may from time to time receive computer generated emails
about overdue items which includes a notice that overdue fines will
begin on Oct 1, but again this does not apply to libraries to whom we
loan items via ILL. 

     We hope that other libraries will (for the most part!) continue to
not charge us for overdues, either. Should you receive computer
generated notices from us about overdue fines, please disregard them.
