We do not borrow books that are being used for any classes being
currently offered on our campus.   It simply isn't a realistic option.
If one student was able to do so, many others would also want to borrow
instead of buy, and we simply cannot borrow 20 copies of the same book.
L  And, students are notoriously bad about getting books back by the due
dates, and would keep the textbooks the whole semester even if we said
that they could not be renewed.  Then they would be upset about the $1 a
day fines.

 

We will lend textbooks if asked.

Good Morning All:

 

I just had a patron come to me inquiring about ordering books through
ILL for her son who is in college(10) books in all.  I do remember
sometime ago, an email discussion on this topic, but do not remember
what the final response was.  Of course, I did tell her about the use
Barnes and Noble book store in NY on 18 & 5th and the strand book store
too.  I don't think we do this because it is not medical or related to
the job so I need your help so that I can respond to her properly and
forward her on to the next resource.
