[ILL-L] ill for items owned by your library

The agreement with our in-state regional network and our library policy prohibit us from requesting anything we own through ILL, so we follow what Sean has described below. That said, I think it's very probable that requests for articles that could be filled from our databases -or even readily available on the Internet- may slip through and be requested via ILL.

That said- by signing up for a Jacksonville Public Library E-Card, ANYONE has access to our most of our electronic resources , including magazine and newspaper databases, encyclopedias, our Special Collections, and downloadable audio! More information at: http://jpl.coj.net/lib/circ.html .

Hi Joanne,

Our policy is to NOT request anything through ILL that we own. This includes e-books, books that are checked out, and library items that are on reserve. We will, however, consider overriding the policy in certain circumstances.

Hello list members-

I'm writing to find out how you all handle ILL borrowing requests from your users for items that you have in your library collection, specifically:

*         e-books

*         items on hourly reserve

* items that are in the library's collection but checked out and are not due to be returned for at least 1 week

Do you proceed with ILL requests for the above or do you cancel automatically?

Thanks very much-

Joanna Duy
