[ILL-L] non-AV lenders--custom holdings group still necessary?

Kim,

OCLC deflection is based on large format categories; it doesn't allow a distinction between musical recordings and not musical recordings, for instance, or allow a lender to break out Genealogy from other books.

Until these finer distinctions can be made, custom holdings are still the key to faster turn around time for borrowers.

How are ya'll handling non-AV lenders as far as mechanics of creating your WRS requests?

I guess my question boils down to this: are custom holding groups/paths still necessary now that auto-deflect is in place and easy to set up for the lender? I ask because keeping up with who lends what has never been especially accurate.
