This isn't supposed to happen, so I just make a note in my records and send it back to the library that sent the second copy,

Subject: [ILL-L] Receiving when Shipped from another lender
When one library has updated an OCLC borrowing request to Shipped, but an item arrives from a previous library on the lending string, is there an acceptable way to receive the item in hand? We realize that our ILLiad system would allow us to receive the item from a lender that didn't update, but then ILLiad updates the OCLC status to Received - which indicates that we've received the item from the lender who updated to shipped before their item actually arrives.
Are there any guidelines about waiting for the item shipped by the lender showing in OCLC? What do your libraries do?
