Aaron-

After reading over all the responses- I don't think you're going to a
consensus on this issue. Do as your spirit leads you.

Subject: [ILL-L] Thank You Notes

You raise an interesting issue - especially since I am about to run out
of our thank you slips.

What is the general consensus? Do you, the lending library, feel
sufficiently thanked (short of a handwritten note penned by a worshipful
patron) just by the book being returned with any paperwork you sent with
it?

We have tasteful, little thank you slips I always insert into books
loaned to us, but if the consensus is that they are superfluous I will
happily stop using them as I have other things to do than stand at the
paper cutter later this week and make a new batch of them.

So right.

After we get rid of the thank you slips, especially those in color,
let's get rid of anything the lender has attached to the book. Off with
the label you use placed on the front of our book We do not want to
know the name of your patron, in Tennessee this violates patron
confidentiality laws.

Books, like camp grounds, should be left cleaner than you found them.

little mass produced "thank you" notes for our lending activity. They
are meaningless to me. When I get those things I am annoyed because it's
one more action I have to take on that transaction--dispose of it.
