[ILL-L] Thank You Notes

I'm with Kim Peterson on the paper inserted "Thank you" notes. As far as
a stamped paperwork goes, if you have the time and ink, go for it. I am
tempted to find our Thank You stamp myself. Personally, however, I am
quite aware of the work it takes to get each book to a library, and even
more so when it is a particularly bothersome item. As such, I feel the
same warmth getting a book back whether the paperwork has a stamp on it
or not-simply because I know they themselves have suffered equally as
much as I--suffering is a bit strong, but sometimes it can come to that
:P)
I find this discussion as eccentric as myself; I love ILL
librarians/staff <3

Any thank-you notes we send with the items are handwritten on the
paperwork (or book strap or sticker label on the front of the book). My
predecessor did this, so I continued the tradition. I have since passed
the torch onto a new staff member, who in turn does the same thing. I
like to let the borrowing library know we appreciate them allowing our
patrons to use their items.
Thanks,
Kimberly Bridges

little mass produced "thank you" notes for our lending activity. They
are meaningless to me. When I get those things I am annoyed because it's
one more action I have to take on that transaction--dispose of it.
