[ILL-L] Thank You Notes

Kim-

I appreciate that.

For many of us however, that is not the case. As the receiver, I find a
rubber stamp or a sticker a welcome reminder that there is someone
behind that Worldcat record.

Sarah, here's the thing: A rubber stamp is no more "personal" to me than
the WorldCat transaction record.

You can put all of the love in the world into it, but to me as the
receiver, it's just a rubber stamp.

I think as probably many of us do that thank you notes are a
welcome respite from the often impersonal side of ILL. We stamp "thank
you" on the return paperwork we send back with the book-not only because
we are truly thankful that you are willing to share your collection with
us, but also because that personal touch means something and is
important in a virtual world sometimes taken over by the impersonal. We
generally get returned items with hand written notes on the paperwork,
or colorful stamps. It is never overwhelming for us, or unwelcome.
Thank you.
